I was born in 1985 and live and work in Berlin and Halle (Saale).
I studied Fine Arts and Film at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg.

My artistic practice originated in an open studio where I began working early on, free from judgment and fixed ideas. Surrounded by like-minded young people, I sat there day after day and simply drew - intuitively, freely, and spontaneously.

This time was formative for me because it was the first time I was in a space where I developed a sense of what art could be.

When I then began studying Fine Arts, I was surprised to encounter many rigid and entrenched ideas about what art should be. Without really being aware of it at the time, I didn't actually care. I just wanted to draw.

And yet, gradually, I lost the joy and vibrancy of it. Suddenly, it had to become something, mean something, make a statement, as if it would otherwise lose its legitimacy.

Later, I took a different path. I began studying film and gradually distanced myself from drawing until it faded completely into the background.

It wasn't until twenty years later that I rediscovered it through a simple experiment. Instead of a morning diary, I picked up a pen and began to draw - without intention, without control. Not words as expression, but the line.

And so I began to simply draw every morning.

Today, my work emerges from precisely this state. I understand drawing as an open process in which something reveals itself, becoming visible through my hand.

My drawings are traces of this moment.

I draw because I am.
